Bismillah…
“The limit of my language is the limit of my world”.
Let me post 2 activities at the same time. One is the Story Reading by elementary students to kindergarten ers and the other one is the “Literacy Sessions” with parents.
Literacy is one of the strongest program we emphasized on since the very beginning of our School journey in 2018. Journaling and Show “but” Not Tell, is proven to be very effective to encourage children to start sharing ideas, thoughts, and to create their own art work and finally talk about it with small audience.
When they go to primary classes, they enjoy making their own simple books about almost anything.
This first semester we are exploring about Our Strong Body and Healthy food. Kawakibians elementary created books about nails, hair, teeth, hands, ears and bones. They focus points are vary. Some wrote about how to look after those important parts, some wrote funny story based on their experience, some others drew bigger pictures with medium sized fonts to label them.
After that they took turns to share it with their little friends. It is lovely how the program really shaped skills and knowledge at the same time.
Parents are also giving very positive feedback for the progress they are witnessing at home. Alhamdulillah.
We believe the strong bonds between home and school is the key for this achievement.
Because by learning languages, we will shape generations that will BELONG wherever they will be in the future.
